Chardale Murray - BHM Spotlight Series

I chat with Chardale Murray, businesswoman and Mayor of the Town of Hollywood SC. Chardale is the Owner of Murray's Mortuary which has been serving families of the Lowcountry for 20 years. Chardale’s work in funeral services began in March of 2000, when she passed the state's licensing test to become one of the area's youngest funeral directors. Chardale also owns Murray’s Executive LLC, a trucking company, as well as several other businesses. Chardale began her eighteen month term as the Town of Hollywood’s Town Council member on July 1, 2019, and on November 3, 2020, she was elected to the SC House of Representatives, becoming the first African American woman to hold this position for District 116. In November of 2023, Chardale was elected to be the new Mayor of the Town of Hollywood. Since being elected Mayor Murray has taken the town by storm!
